A Gentle Transition from Home to School

Our Kindergarten program provides a gentle transition between home and school. We take great care to preserve childhood innocence and trust. It is so important that the children find learning delightful.

The rhythm of each day includes a whole range of activities. It begins and ends with opening and closing circles. In between, there’s language arts, math, science, social studies, art, music and of course, the ever-popular play time. And because of the family atmosphere of the whole school, students in the Kindergarten also interact with others in first through sixth grades.

We provide lots of hands-on experience with nature and the things that are in their own world. Students have many opportunities to learn about themselves and their peers as they use their imaginations in cooperative activities. By allowing children to explore their world in ways that come naturally to them, we encourage their curiosity. This sparks a desire to know and understand what is around them.

Throughout our curriculum, we also integrate academic studies into spiritual growth. In accommodation to the states and needs of the students, we help develop a culture that nurtures both independence and healthy relationships.
